Builders CEO Terry Van Horne announced in a press
release that IWB has launched a Payday Loan
Portal called the
Quick
Cash Now Network.com. The portal provides
social networking tools including a blog, user
generated lender
reviews and payday loan and cash advance
news and press releases. In the future IWB intends to enhance
the press release area by offering a payday
loan press release service.
Asked why a payday loan
portal was chosen as the first in-house project
for IWB Mr. Van Horne responded, "We had been very
active in this niche in the past managing a $1M
PPC campaign for an online payday loan lender.
That campaign was eventually halted after 3 years
because the costs/acquisition were too high. We
were replaced with a company generating leads
through SEO and website promotion. Their price per
lead was 1/4 of the cost of our best PPC effort.
In other words, they were selling leads for less
than we could buy a single click for on either the
Google or Google Content Network. Judging by the
price increases in the last 3 years it was obvious
to us that PPC was likely not a sustainable means
to generate leads and we wanted to be set when the
lenders realized it was a dead end."
Mr. Van Horne was asked
during the interview why he thought a payday loan
site was a good social networking niche he
replied, "The main reason is that we know the
buyers and lenders needs. Marketing is partially
about selling solutions to a problem. Our research
also indicated this is an under served niche for
social networking, We are also interested in
getting an alternative message across. Payday
lenders have been unjustly vilified by old media
to sell papers. The blog will be used to provide
an alternative view and the industry news
clippings and users feedback in the reviews will
hopefully change the perception of lenders by
informing the public about the need for this type
of lender."
